To sum it up for you we contacted Yelp to cancel after signing a contract that we were told would have a capped amount and was based on clicks.Needless to say we were getting charged no matter the clicks a whopping $400 a month.

Outrageous. So we were happy to pay the $700 early cancellation fee. After speaking with a rep we were threatened that YELP would personally sabotage our ratings and only leave negative ones. Living in a small town reviews are everything.

Overly furious with the company and realizing the size of it we saw no way out than to wait until the contract ended. Once our contract ended 6 months later we called to cancel and once confirmed we brought up the bigger issue. The rep we spoke with Dominick seemed applaud by our story saying that YELP would never allow this. He said all calls are recorded and if we find what you say to be true we will work something out.

After waiting for a return call that we never got which was promised, we called them back. The rep informed us that they were unable to find a recorded call so they saw no reason to call us back. Wrong! Great customer service there.

After another phone call YELP came to the conclusion that because they have no proof and their rep who originally made the threats said she would never say those things, that we either made it up (no joke they said this) or it is what it is. They are not willing what so ever to take care of the customer because they made the mistake of not recording the call.

Their excuse is sometimes the system doesn't record but instead of taking the customers side they took their representatives side.So nothing was done to amend the situation and YELP still stands as terrible customer service.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

I didn't like: Absolutely awful company, Yelp threatened us if we canceled, Customer service is ridiculous.
